Geoffrey Aaronson is a founding partner at Aaronson Schantz Beiley P.A. and is an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated Lawyer with over 30 years of bankruptcy reorganization/restructuring and civil litigation experience.
He is recognized as one of Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine since 2006 and as one of Florida’s Super Lawyers®. He has spoken at various bankruptcy seminars for lawyers. He has represented all types of parties in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy matters including corporate and individual high-end debtors, creditors, Trustees, secured lenders, landlords, unsecured creditors, equity interests, purchasers and sellers.
He has represented substantial interests in many of South Florida’s most significant and prominent cases ranging from airline reorganizations, Ponzi scheme cases, large land development cases, bank holding company cases, hospitality cases, restaurant franchise cases, nightclub cases, hospital cases, private school cases, medical industry cases, insurance industry cases, and large law firm reorganization cases. As a sampling, he has represented Northeast International Airways in reorganization, the second largest creditor block in the Southeast Banking Corporation case, Miami General Hospital, large land development project in the Jacksonville Riverwalk area, the third largest creditor group in the Rothstein Ponzi case, and the Debtor entities in certain of South Florida’s highly publicized cases.
Mr. Aaronson is a known and respected attorney in all of South Florida’s Bankruptcy Courts, and also appears regularly through the state of Florida, and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also has handled matters in the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. As well, he has supervised case matters in California, Nevada and Delaware. Mr. Aaronson is periodically consulted for advice by various Florida attorneys regarding restructuring, reorganization and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Aaronson maintains an active practice, and supervises all of the firm’s complex reorganization and civil litigation matters.
Mr. Aaronson serves on the Board of Directors of Temple Emanu-El of Greater Miami and was the past Chair of The Lehrman Community Day School in Miami Beach, Florida.
Mr. Aaronson is an active cyclist and the proud father of two successful daughters.
